Muscletech Test HD Review

Muscletech Test HD supposedly harnesses the power of testosterone, with no cycling on and off.

Could this new testosterone booster really be powerful enough to raise testosterone without major side effects? Here’s a breakdown on Muscletech Test HD.

Muscletech Test HD: Ingredient Breakdown

It’s important to examine the ingredients of any testosterone booster to see if the formula meets product claims. Let’s look at four of the ingredients, the ones highlighted by Muscletech:

Shilajit (100 mg). Easily the most unique ingredient in Muscletech Test HD, shilajit is a tar-like substance found in Tibet mountains said to treat a variety of ailments. Shilajit’s effect on testosterone levels is just beginning to be explored, however, and is not definitively proven.

In one study, 60 infertile men with low sperm count were given 100 mg shilajit twice daily. In 28 men, testosterone levels increased by about 23.5%. [1] This result calls for further studies but does not prove shilajit raises testosterone. If this test rings true, though, there is the right amount of shilajit in Muscletech Test HD to make a difference.

Boron Citrate (100 mg). Boron has raised testosterone in rat studies, but results in human studies are less straightforward.

In one study, 10 mg boron increased plasma free testosterone levels in 8 men after 1 week. [2] But, 8 men isn’t a large enough sample size to be significant.

In another study, 2.5 mg boron given to 10 bodybuilders for 7 weeks did not increase testosterone more than a placebo. [3] The 100 mg boron citrate in Muscletech Test HD seems a bit excessive; although there’s just 5% boron per serving, boron citrate is not necessarily proven to work better than lower dosages and might cause side effects.

Stinging Nettle (50 mg). Stinging nettle is a common treatment for enlarged prostate. It may block estrogen activity to prevent testosterone to estrogen conversion and allow for further testosterone increase. [4] The correct dosages for these functions are not yet established by research, though.

Tribulus (250 mg). Although dozens of manufacturers claim tribulus raises testosterone, research shows otherwise. In one study, 21 men took 20 mg/kg body weight tribulus, 10 mg/kg body weight tribulus, or placebo. There was no difference between tribulus groups and control in terms of testosterone levels. [5] The amount of tribulus here is even less than that used in the study.

Other ingredients include broccoli powder, which might block estrogen, andvelvet bean extract, which could raise dopamine.

Potential Side Effects from Muscletech Test HD

The ingredients in Muscletech Test HD come with certain side effect risk. For example, a dosage of 20 mg boron per day might increase infertility risk in men. Large quantities could also cause inflammation, irritability, tremors, headache, depression, and other side effects. [6]

Stinging nettle could cause stomach complaints and sweating, [7] while tribulus might cause insomnia. [8]

Manufacturers discourage exceeding recommending serving, as this could exacerbate side effect risk. You should not take if you are under 18, pregnant, or nursing, and should talk to a doctor if you have diabetes, blood deficiency, or another medical condition, or if you are taking medications, including blood thinners.

Customer Feedback on Muscletech Test HD

Only four people have reviewed this testosterone booster so far on Bodybuilding.com, but feedback is positive.

Boydenbody said, “new product on the market that i gave a shot and so far so good. been slacking a bit in my workouts. took about a week’s worth of Test HD. went hard on legs the other day, not too much soreness. definitely gives a workout-pep!!”

Rtays0314 said, “Been taking this product for 5 weeks now, and have noticed a significant change in strength in recovery. Puts me in a good mood all the time.”

A Look at Pricing for Muscletech Test HD

Muscletech.com does not offer a price for Test HD, saying it is coming soon. But, other websites sell it for between $50 and $90. This is a bit pricey, but those excited about the new product may be willing to shell out the cash.

How Long Will a Bottle of Muscletech Test HD Last?

There are 90 caplets in a bottle, and you are supposed to take 1 caplet twice daily (one in the morning; the other mid-afternoon or 30 minutes before workout). Thus, a bottle should last 45 days, 15 days longer than most supplements.

The Final Buzzer on Muscletech Test HD

Muscletech Test HD contains the most popular testosterone-raising ingredients, generally in adequate dosages. The thing that should stick out about Muscletech Test HD is the inclusion of the unique ingredient shilajit. But, shilajit hasn’t yet proven to be a formidable force among testosterone-raising ingredients.

Keep your eyes peeled on Muscletech Test HD; its popularity as time goes on will be telling.
