AnEvol was a product designed by combining prohormones with several all natural extracts to create a potent testosterone boosting supplement. For a time it was popular but eventually it was discontinued. There are several reasons a product may become discontinued. Most of the time though it comes down to two reasons: the supplement either wasn’t effective or it was too unsafe. We wanted to which boat AnEvol fell into.
What’s In AnEvol?
AnEvol contains two “anabolic compounds” that help the body create precursors necessary to build more testosterone. These are also known as prohormones. While many prohormones are effective, they can also be potentially dangerous. When taking them, it is often necessary to stack them with several other supplements to cancel out their side effects. The most common drugs needed to take after using prohormones are estrogen-suppressors. AnEvol’s blend contains 2a, 17a-dimethyl-17a-hydroxy-5a-etiocholan-3-one and 17a-methyl-17b-hydroxy-5a-etiocholan-2-ene. As you may notice, each of these contain “methyls.” Compounds high in methyls are effective at helping the body build more muscle but they often put strain on the liver, causing damage or severe side effects.
To offset the liver damage AnEvol’s prohormones could cause, the supplement was also equipped with a blend of all natural extracts and antioxidants. These included Milk Thistle, Green Tea, Alpha Lipoic Acid, MSM, and Ginger. These are great ingredients…especially, Milk Thistle. This ingredient has been used for thousands of years to treat liver diseases and promote overall liver health. Even though these are decent ingredients, AnEvol only contains 4,100 micrograms of them. With such a small amount of these beneficial ingredients, AnEvol’s prohormones will probably not be held back from hurting the liver.
Conclusion on AnEvol
With the harmful possibilities of AnEvol’s prohomones, we wouldn’t recommend trying to track down this discontinued product. In fact, we recommend being careful of most supplements that contain prohormones. If you don’t stack them with all the right ancillary supplements, you could end up experiencing some pretty harsh side effects.
